Great Easter/Thanksgiving Outreach

GEO and GTO, as they are known, are all church ministries taking place during the weeks leading up to Easter and Thanksgiving. All Cornerstone attenders are encouraged to fill one or more large bags with the attached grocery list and/or deliver a filled bag and a ham/turkey to a struggling family. Focusing on people and relationships is encouraged. Families are either referred by local school social workers or families involved in Mission Possible. Several hundred families are served each year.

Mission Possible

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”   Matt 19:26

Mission Possible is our local multi-church empowerment ministry WITH the families of Rochester Hills and Countryside Mobile Home Parks to impact their neighborhood for Jesus. Park residents are important members of the leadership team that directs the ministry. Cornerstone is the primary funder of the ministry and provides many of the volunteers. There are several Mission Possible serving opportunities, click below to learn more!

San Lorenzo, Guatemala

San Lorenzo is a small village located in the mountains of Guatemala; residents struggle in deep poverty and many scavenge the nearby dump to survive.   Cornerstone partners with Adventures Guatemala (led by Cornerstone missionaries) and One Way Community, a Guatemalan-led ministry to bring long-term hope and practical expressions of God’s love to San Lorenzo.  A short-term mission trip to meet and encourage the residents of San Lorenzo and participate in the ministry is scheduled each summer.   Our support of San Lorenzo through One Way Community includes building brick stoves, providing clean water, soccer to build esteem and self-discipline, tutoring, secondary school scholarships, women’s discipleship and more!   The long-term hope is for a community center and church for San Lorenzo.
